On a February day in 2003, more than thirty-five prominent vintners gathered together with Warren Winiarski and his family for the Hands of Time: Winemakers Reunion. A day of celebration and reflection, the event honored winemakers and viticulturists who at one time or another had worked at Stags Leap Wine Cellars and lent a hand. The event started with each vintner placing his or her hand into a plaque of French limestone putty. These cast handprints are what now comprise the Hands of Time exhibit, permanently installed at the Napa Valley winery. The celebration inspired a string of memories, toasts and tribute, and emotional outpourings of gratitude. All gave credit to Warren and Stags Leap Wine Cellars Aromas of red berry parfait with accent notes of freshly shaved nutmeg and dusty cocoa. Ther vibrant, juicy flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and strawberry mingle with warm vanilla and a lingering spice note. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, 3% Syrah. This wine is a tribute to the alumni whose unwavering vision of crafting elegant and balanced wines has been passed down from teacher to student, and through the hands of time.-Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
